Chat Software

| "Chatting" on line is a popular method of
communicating with family, friends and others around the world. Chat software typically
comes in two formats; the first where you can only "chat" with one person at a
time (the "pager" variety) and the second where you can actually
"conference chat" with multiple users (such as ICQ). Some allow you to play
board games and more online. Nearly all do not require you to enter a chat room
(although available) in order to chat with family, friends and associates providing both
parties have the same chat software and have configured the user/buddy list to include
each other. Parents, we strongly recommend you visit the manufacturer's sites to see if
their services meet your approval before downloading their software onto your family PC. |

two varieties - shareware and freeware. Shareware is usually more professional in
appearance and functionality but expects payment of a nominal amount if you continue using
